SORTNET FEATURES

Sortnet is an email classification tool developed for dry cargo shipbrokers. Sortnet can;

  • read and process all e-mail received into users' inboxes instantly,
  • recognize any cargo order or vessel position contained in e-mail messages the same way as human intelligence,
  • classify these orders and positions into respective regions,
  • enable users to search and retrieve ships or cargo orders within the required quantity/size range in any region users select.
It performs all these complicated functions in seconds.

Inbox Folder

When you login to your Sortnet account you will be directed to the Inbox Folder of the web mail interface automatically. This folder has the same function as any other e-mail client and web mail interface. All your e-mail messages are received and stored in this folder in the order of received date and time. You may check all your received mail in this folder and can read it in ordinary email format by clicking on the message. Please note that your name will appear in the FROM column on the messages forwarded by you therefore you may identify any message by its subject.

Unclassified Folder

After processing the messages received by your inbox any message having no cargo proposal or tonnage position and any circular messages that have not been classified will be stored in this folder. This folder enables you to quickly check the messages sent to you for any purpose other than a cargo or vessel quotation.

Search Function

You may start your search when you are in inbox folder.
After this initial step, it's not necessary to browse back to the inbox folder if you are currently in any selected search folder.

  1. Select Content (Cargo or Vessel) Note: Time Charter orders are also classified under Cargo content.
  2. Enter minimum quantity of the cargo (for cargoes) indicating mton weight or size of the vessel you want to search for in dwt. Do the same in the maximum tab. Ie. If you search a cargo between 10,000 mton and 20,000 mt, type 10000 in the minimum tab and 20000 in the maximum tab. Do not leave any space between digits. If you wish to search for a vessel between 7,000 dwt and 18,500 dwt type 7000 in the minimum tab and 18500 in the maximum tab. Do not leave any space between digits.
  3. Select the region where you wish to search for a cargo or vessel. When you click the tab all regions will appear. (you must scroll down to see all of the regions) Click on the region to select.

After entering all the necessary parameters you can perform a search. Please click search button. After you click the search button a new folder will open in seconds. This folder will show you a list of the mail containing suitable cargo or vessels matching your parameters entered in the search section. When you click on any message, the message will open and the cargoes or vessels matching your criteria will appear with opening or loading ports highlighted in a different color. This is designed to enable you to notice the cargo or vessel you are looking for on the message body easily. Therefore you do not need to scan the entire message (which can be very long sometimes) to find criteria, you just check the highlighted part(s) of the message.

Compose

You might compose a message by clicking this button. A new blank page willl open where you can type the message and send to one or various recipents.

Reply

You might need to send a reply to the sender of any message which might be a freight inquiry, or a question about workability or a proposal of vessel or cargo, etc. Sortnet enables you to send such message instantly to the sender of any mail you read.

Notice to Sender

If you receive e-mail messages with continuous mistake (not classified or mis-classied) you may send a warning message to the sender by clicking the Notice to Sender button.

Report Errors to Sortnet

If a circular is typed in a proper format but was not classified or is miss-classified, you can report it by clicking the Report Errors to Sortnet button on the e-mail reading page. Our software team can analyze it to make the necessary upgrades to the processing software.

You may delete any messages received before a certain date to have most recent cargo orders or positions in your mailbox. You just click the calendar next to the empty tab. Select the date you want to delete (messages will be deleted including the date you select) and click the Delete Messages Received Before. All the messages received before (including) the date you select will be deleted permanently.
